High-level overview
- Custom design of a mock moving company
- Custom multi-step form built to capture details of booking
- Custom backend CMS powered by Strapi.io
- Frontend hosted on Vercel, backend hosted on Heroku
- Automated website deployments through Github
- Image optimization and lazy loading for website performance
Project summary
The goal with this website is to experiment with the creation of different layouts, components and functionality that I believe should be present in a home services website.
The website is still a work in progress. Some areas like the booking page and the location pages are still being developed.
This was an enjoyable project to work on. I was able to work with Strapi for the first time, was able to deploy both the frontend and the backend to separate services and had the chance to troubleshoot new problems.
Also, this was my first time working with the Framer Motion library, which is a pretty sleek animations library.
Next Steps
- Request a callback
The click to call functionality currently works, but only accepts my phone number. Once this is built out, it will allow the user to request a callback, and be automatically connected with the next available agent. - Booking page
The basic functionality of the page works, but it still requires a custom calendar integration that will allow users to select a time and date. Also, I plan to build a custom pricing calculator to make it really easy for a visitor to get a quote, once they input the variables required.
