Introduction

Enercare.ca is the client-facing website for Enercare Home Services, a prominent home service company in Ontario, Canada. The objective of this project was to develop a website and technology stack that would enhance website conversion rates, improve user experience, and empower the client to manage the website independently. As the Senior Manager of Digital Marketing, I collaborated with our agency partner, internal resources, and executive stakeholders to plan and execute this website launch.

Making the feedback loop easier

In projects involving multiple teams and stakeholders, efficient feedback gathering and centralized communication are crucial. To streamline this process, I recommended utilizing InvisionApp, which allowed us to provide feedback effectively and work with the same version of wireframes or mockups. This significantly improved our review workflow, avoiding the chaos of managing feedback through emails and multiple versions of documents.

Efficient bug tracking & resolution

No project is without its share of bugs and issues that need to be addressed during development. These could range from visual styling errors to misunderstood requirements or copy mistakes. Understanding the bug and its context is vital for developers to debug and resolve the issue. Having experience as both a developer and a client, I recognized the frustration that ineffective bug tracking can cause. To simplify the process for both the client team and development team, I suggested implementing Bugherd, a visual bug tracking tool. Bugherd proved to be the perfect solution, as it is user-friendly and provides non-technical users with the ability to capture screenshots, add details and tags, and provides developers with essential data about the bug, such as browser version and screen size.

Project Wrap-up

The redesigned website was successfully launched in November 2021 and remains a work in progress. Throughout the project, Enercare's internal team, the agency partner, and myself gained valuable insights that will contribute to future success.
